‘With’ is a preposition:  A preposition is a word that shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and other words in a sentence.

Examples:

  • I will have a meeting with the team. (Here, ‘with’ shows the relationship between ‘meeting’ and ‘team’.)
  • He went to the store with his friends. (Here, ‘with’ shows the relationship between ‘he’ and ‘friends’.)
  • She is angry with him for not calling. (Here, ‘with’ shows the relationship between ‘angry’ and ‘him’.)
  • The cat slept under the bed with the dog. (Here, ‘with’ shows the relationship between ‘cat’ and ‘dog’.)
  • I will stay in touch with you. (Here, ‘with’ shows the relationship between ‘I’ and ‘you’.)
