The internet can affect our lives positively and negatively, both in some aspects. However, as chosen in this essay I will identify the negative impacts that Internet is a boon or a ban.

The Internet can have a bad impact on people’s lives by distracting them, and it is not just an impact to the younger people, but also to us older generation. This is because nowadays, the Internet is everywhere; people are addicted to their phones, social media and ATM machines.

Their smart devices have screens that operate on the internet and when they use it, they’d be distracted by some sites or they’d just send these things called messages. Sometimes, they would even pay money from their banks or from other places as well.

The negative impacts of this technology has been increasing over my life time (30+ years of age) and many other generations. For example, when I was in high school in 2005, I got my first mobile phone, which was a Nokia N73 (a 3G mobile phone).

The internet can also make people more anti-social as they would rather spend their time talking to people online rather than face-to-face. They would rather stay at home communicating through the computer or phone screen than go outside and meet new people.

In my opinion, this is not a good thing as people need social interaction to function properly. The internet can also make people more lazy as they would rather stay at home and order things online rather than go out and get them themselves. Again, this is not a good thing as people need to be active to stay healthy.
