Write A Paragraph About Causes, Impacts Of Over Population

The growing world population of more than 6 billion people places increasing demands on the limited resources available. If this trend continues, it will lead to increasing scarcity and competition for resources, which can lead to future wars. Rising poverty and disease resulting from environmental degradation are also likely the result of increasing global population growth (Population Reference Bureau).

According to the Population Reference Bureau, about 80 million people are added to the world’s 6 billion population every year. Causes of overpopulation in India

Overpopulation in India is a cause of several problems. While it sounds like a huge percentage when you consider that Canada has 35 million people while India has 1.15 billion, only 18% is overpopulated. However, in many other countries, there are even more people who are malnourished or living in poverty while still having enough food to feed their populations. The real problem is the number of children born per woman, which averages around 4-5 children per Indian woman (CIA World Factbook). As long as fertility rates remain at these levels, it will result in unsustainable growth given the size and resources of India, as every child needs food and water to survive and grow up.

Overpopulation is badly affecting India.

Although India has a large population of more than 1.15 billion, only 18% is overpopulated. With such high birth rates, this means that the population almost doubles every two decades, which places higher demands on the production of goods and services through natural capital UN.
